COME and join the BanterFlix team at the Beanbag Cinema for a special screening of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm as we celebrate Free Comic Book Day.
With the help of the Comic Book Guys we’ll be talking part in the world-wide festivities this year by screening an often overlooked Batman movie, the 1993 animated feature Mask of the Phantasm.
Inspired by the animated TV series and featuring the voices Kevin Conway and Mark Hamill, this is a film that’s much more Burton-esque than some viewers might initially think. From its opening sequence as we journey through Gotham’s dark and gothic architecture to the more adult oriented nature of the film’s subject matter this is a film that is as dark as either of Tim Burton’s two Batman movies and in keeping with the style of the graphic novels of the late 1980s.
Following the screening we’ll be recording a live edition of our podcast as we discuss what went wrong with Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and asking our audience to share their opinions on Zack Snyder’s feature.
Admission is £4 and thanks to the Comic Book Guys we’ll be giving everyone who attends our screening a free comic for everyone who attends our screening. Tickets can be purchased online through our box-office at TicketSource.
Since this is a limited capacity venue, we’d recommend booking your ticket early to ensure admission and more importantly a bean-bag.Doors open at 1.30pm and the screening starts at 2pm sharp!
