FROM the mind that brought us Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy comes Dogma; a fantastic Religious satire written and directed by Kevin Smith.
The plot revolves around two fallen angels Bartleby and Loki, played by Affleck and Damon, who plan to exploit an alleged loophole in Catholic dogma and return to Heaven; but as existence is founded on the principle that God is infallible; their success would prove that God was wrong and thus undo all creation. It falls upon Linda Fiorentino’s character Bethany, an abortion clinic worker with a special heritage to save the existence of humanity, along with her two prophets Jay and Silent Bob.
Featuring memorable performances by Chris Rock, Salma Hayek, the late Alan Rickman and yes a poop monster, Smith’s Film looks at the Catholic Faith with all the trademark wit and humour you’d expect from the man who brought us Clerks and Mallrats.
