DUNGANNON Film Club will be celebrating its first birthday this weekend and to mark the occasion they will be showing Edgar Wright’s cult classic Shaun of the Dead at Hagan’s Bar this Saturday evening. The organizers have lined up an array of ghoulish delights to help get everyone in the party spirit.
There will be complementary drinks and Cornettos for everyone upon arrival, with prizes on the night for the best dressed zombie, record throwing and the best zombie impression as well. The first 20 people through the door at 7pm can get their zombie makeup done for free by Joe Maxwell (£5 thereafter), with a ‘zombie-disco’ commencing shortly after the film’s screening.
Wright’s 2004 ‘Zom-Com’ starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the first in the now infamous ‘Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy’ is a wonderfully light-hearted love-letter to the zombie films of George A. Romero. Pegg plays Shaun, a man attempting to get focus in his life as he deals with his girlfriend, mother and stepfather, but finds himself unwittingly in the middle of an apocalyptic zombie uprising.
Tickets for the event in Dungannon are priced at £7 each and can be purchased directly from the film club’s website or by contacting them directly on 07736491622.
