COINCIDING with their recent relocation to St Mary’s Hall on Main Street in Newcastle Co. Down, NCC (Newcastle Community Cinema) have launched their second annual Full Moon Film festival: a movie-packed weekender taking place from the 22nd to 25th October. With newly renovated town centre premises finally secured, this cine-loving group of volunteers have pulled together a fantastic array of films to suit all tastes within this year’s programme.
Promising to be bigger and better than last year, this year’s programme promises even more film riches, with everything from music documentaries to exclusive Irish films: there’ll also be 80s style sci-fi action, James Dean and even a spot of Disney!
Amongst the films being shown is a UK exclusive double bill of two fantastic features inspired by Raiders Of The Lost Ark – Raiders: The Adaptation is a shot for shot retelling made by a tenacious group of 12 year olds from Mississippi back in 1982, and The Story Of The Greatest Fan Film Ever Made is a documentary telling the story of this huge endeavour. Hugely charming, and massively enjoyable from start to finish, these two are the headliners on Saturday night from 8pm.
Tickets for screenings can be purchased through NCC’s website – you’ll also be able to look through this year’s programme in full.
