ON Friday 29 August the Roe Valley Arts & Cultural centre will be screening the Steven Spielberg timeless classic, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
The film tells the story of Elliott (Henry Thomas), a lonely boy who befriends an extra-terrestrial, who unwittingly is left stranded on Earth. Elliott and his siblings help the little alien return home, while attempting to keep its presence hidden from their mother and the government.
Heart-warming and internationally acclaimed, the film has been described by the director as one of his most personal to date as it was based on the concept of on an imaginary friend he had created for himself after the divorce of his parents’ in 1960. At the time of its theatrical release acclaimed film-critic Roger Ebert declared: “This is not simply a good movie. It is one of those movies that brush away our cautions and win our hearts.”
The Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre is a superb facility situated at the heart of Limavady town. A flagship venue for the Limavady Borough Council since it opened in October 2010.
