CELEBRATE or possibly commiserate over the Valentine’s weekend by taking in a screening of the brilliant romantic comedy, When Harry Met Sally on Saturday 15 February at the Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre in Limavady.
Named as one of the Top 30 Romantic Films of all time and considered by many critics to be a contemporary classic, Rob Reiner‘s 1989 film explores the true nature of platonic friendship between the sexes. Starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan, the film raises the question does sex make it impossible for men and women to be true friends?
Written by the late Nora Ephron, The film chronicles this dilemma through the eleven year relationship between Harry (Crystal) and Sally (Ryan) following their lives from when they met, through several years of chance encounters in New York City. There’s also the small matter of the now infamous ‘I’ll have what shes having’ moment in Katz’s Delicatessen.
The screening kicks off at 12pm, with tickets priced at £4. They can be purchased from the centre’s website, or by contacting the box-office directly on 02877760650.
