ON this week’s show BanterFlix’s very own Jim McClean was joined by local film critics Robert J.E. Simpson, Neil Sedgewick and The Belfast Film Blog’s Conor Smyth. As usual they discussed some of the week’s hottest movie news, previewed some local events and reviewed the latest cinematic releases.

Thanks to Movie House Cinemas, Neil reviewed Michael R. Roskam’s gritty gangster feature The Drop, starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace and the late James Gandolfini. Robert shared his thoughts on the Alan Turing bio-pic The Imitation Game, starring Benedict Cumberbatch; Conor also reviewed Mr. Turner which is still on general release.

This week we were joined by Richard Waterson and James Mahon from the Pop up Film Club, one of the newest film societies on the local scene. They popped in to tell us about the series of special screenings they’re putting on over December in Belfast’s Dock Market .Running from the 13th-21st December, Pop up Film Club’s Festive Flicks will hopefully get you into the Christmas spirit.
