ON this week’s bumper show BanterFlix’s very own Jim McClean was joined by local film critic Conor Smyth from the Belfast Film Blog and Filmgoer’s Richard Davis. As usual they discussed some of the week’s hottest movie news, previewed some local events and reviewed the latest cinematic releases.
This week we reviewed The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One, the Rodger Ebert Documentary Life Itself and the Tommy Lee Jones pseudo-western, The Homesman. Conor also shared his thoughts on some of the films recently screened during this year’s Outburst Queer Arts Festival.
We were also joined by Stuart Sloan and Rosie Le Garsmeur from Second Chance Cinema, who popped in to tell us about a very special series of screenings they’re putting on this weekend in Belfast (28-30 November). We also had some audio from Cinemagic’s Mark Kermode Film Night, which was held at the Queen’s Film Theatre last weekend.
