COME and join us as we celebrate all things Zed related…

BanterFlix will be hosting our first Cult Movie Night at the Belfast Film Festival’s Beanbag Cinema with a special screening of Edgar Wright’s rom-zom-com, Shaun of the Dead on Saturday 24th October. Written by Wright and Simon Pegg, Shaun of the Dead is the first instalment within the director’s Blood and Ice Cream trilogy.

Pegg plays Shaun, a likeable loser stuck in a dead end job, who’s attempting to get some kind of focus on his life. Still sharing a flat with his childhood friend, über-slob Ed (Nick Frost), and uptight yuppy Pete (Peter Serafinowicz),  he’s trying to juggle his crap job, warring flatmates, disagreeable stepfather (the ever fantastic Bill Nighy) and a disintegrating relationship with his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield)– all whilst trying to survive a Zombie uprising.

On the night we’ll also be recording a special ‘live’ edition of our podcast, the BanterFlix CineCast, as we talk about the history of zombies on the big screen. We’ll be discussing some of our favourite zombie movies, attempting to explain their cultural impact and how the undead have gone from B-movie shlockfests to mainstream Hollywood.

To celebrate the occasion we’ll be getting into the spirit of things and releasing our inner-zombies and we’re encouraging our guests to do the same. There’ll be some fiendishly good prizes up for grabs throughout the evening; including a prize for the best dressed zombie.

Doors open at 6.30pm with the screening commencing at 7pm sharp. Ticket’s cost £5 each and can be purchased online here: we’d strongly recommend pre-booking as this is a limited capacity venue.

Admission includes a free Cornetto upon arrival and entry into our prize-raffle draw.
