Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is rescued by a deep salvage team after being in hyper-sleep for 57 years. The moon that the Nostromo visited has now been colonized, but contact is lost. This time, colonial marines have impressive firepower, but will that be enough against the Xenomorphs?

Released in 1986, seven years after Ridley Scott’s original, the film was a huge hit with critics and viewers and went on to gross over £140 million worldwide.

Described by American film critic Rodger Ebert Critic Roger Ebert as “painfully and unremittingly intense” and a “superb example of filmmaking craft”, the film went on to be nominated for seven academy awards, including a Best Actress nomination for Sigourney Weaver.

So come and watch the film Empire Magazine voted as ‘Greatest Film Sequel of all Time’ by Empire Magazine in 2009.
