Join us at the Strand Cinema for a special ‘prom-themed’ screening of Brian De Palma’s Carrie for Film Hub NI’s Cinema Day.
To celebrate this year’s theme of ‘youth’ we’ll be converting the Strand’s screen 4 into their our own ‘Cinema Day Prom’.
We’ll be serving up punch before the screening and will ask our audience to vote for their Cinema Day Homecoming Kings and Queens of 2019.
Dressing for the occasion is requested, but not essential!
De Palma’s 1976 film is adapted from Stephen King’s novel and features a fantastic central performance by Sissy Spacek.
She plays Carrie White; an unpopular 16-year-old girl who’s bullied by many of her classmates at school; but her tormentors aren’t aware that Carrie actually possesses telekinetic abilities.
After being pushed too far, she finally gets her revenge on prom night…
