An Exciting New Venture For BanterFlix

In 2016 BanterFlix launched The Dark Hedges Movie Club now we present an exciting new venture as we launch our own short film festival. one aimed at establishing a platform for Irish filmmakers to screen their short Horror and Sci-Fi shorts to audiences here in Belfast.

A Platform Purely for Horror & Sci-Fi

BanterFlix’s Editor-in-Chief Jim McClean said: “Here at BanterFlix we’re really excited about the idea of launching our own short film festival, we want to create a platform that’s purely for the horror and Sci-Fi genres.

Date

This event will take place in Belfast at the Beanbag Cinema on Friday 26 October (8 pm).

Tickets

Tickets cost £6 and can be purchased through our box-office at the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre (028 9024 6609).

The Venue

This event will take place at Belfast’s finest microplex, the Belfast Film Festival’s Beanbag Cinema! Snuggled within the heart of the City’s Cathedral Quarter this is probably the comfiest cinema in Belfast. ( 5 Exchange Place, Belfast BT1 2NA)

Submission Guidelines

There’s no charge for submitting your short to our festival, but any filmmaker submitting their work should check it meets our qualifying criteria.

Eligible submitted shorts must be either

• Made by a Northern Irish/Irish filmmaker
• Written by a Northern Irish/Irish screenwriter
• Filmed in Northern Ireland/Ireland

Short must have entered into production no earlier than 18 months prior to our Festival (26 April 2017).

(Eligibility will be checked, submitted films failing to meet our qualifying criteria will be automatically disqualified)

Notification

All finalists will be notified by Monday 1 October if their material will be screened.

(Please note festival finalists must be able to provide a physical copy/digital file of their material, along with a high-res image still for our event’s programme)
