Piranha on the HMS Caroline

We’ve teamed up with HMS Caroline to put on a very special event for this year’s Belfast Film Festival as our Dark Hedges Movie Club returns with a new programme for 2018.

On Friday 20^th April we’ll be screening Joe Dante’s Piranha on board the Caroline, in the ship’s Drill Hall. The film which this year celebrates its 40^th anniversary is a glorious schlock-fest, produced by Roger Corman as a blatant Jaws rip-off, with flesh-eating piranha replacing the terrifying great white from Spielberg’s film.

Made for roughly $750,000 and earning nearly $16 million at the box-office, this B-movie quickly earned cult status amongst viewers and critics alike with even Steven Spielberg himself declaring it “the best of the Jaws rip-offs”.

So come on down and watch the film on the big screen in this fantastic venue. Tickets cost £8 and can be booked through HMS Caroline’s website.
