Strange Days
5th April 2019 @ 8:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Join BanterFlix at the Beanbag Cinema as we screen Kathryn Bigelow’s 1995 feature, Strange Days.
Written by James Cameron and Jay Cocks, the film blends science fiction with film-noir conventions as it explores themes such as racism, abuse of power, rape, and voyeurism.
New Year’s Eve 1999, Anything is Possible, Nothing is Forbidden!
Starring Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Juliette Lewis, and Tom Sizemore, Bigelow’s film takes place during the last two days of 1999 and tells the story of Lenny Nero (Ralph Fiennes), an ex-cop who now deals with data-discs containing recorded memories and emotions.
One day he receives a disc which contains the memories of a murderer killing a prostitute. Lenny investigates and is pulled deeper and deeper in a whirl of blackmail, murder and rape. Will he survive and solve the case?
