SUMMARY:Audition
DESCRIPTION:Date: Friday\, 12 October \nTime: 8pm (Doors 7:30pm) \nVenue: The Beanbag Cinema \nAdmission: £6 \n \nMore Info\nTakashi Miike’s Audition has to be one of the best Japanese horror movies ever made\, so we’re delighted to screen the film as part of our Dark Hedges Movie Club. Cited by many as one of the pioneering films within the ‘torture porn’ sub-genre of the horror genre. \nhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/?ref_=nv_sr_1 \nunlike so many of the imitators that followed in its wake\, Miike’s film is happy to play the long game as it delivers a deeply unsettling horror movie with one of the most shocking finales in cinema’s history! Not one for the fainthearted!

SUMMARY:Halloween H20 (35mm Screening)
DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday 16 October 2018 \nVenue: Strand Arts Centre \nTime: 8:30pm \nAdmission: £6 \n \nMore Info\nBanterFlix has teamed up with the Strand Arts Centre to screen Halloween: H20 on 35mm for a night that not only celebrates the film’s 20th anniversary but 40 years of The Shape as we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of John Carpenter’s iconic original. \n[imdb]http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120694/[/imdb] \nReleased in 1998 Steve Miner’s feature is the seventh instalment within the series that saw Jamie Lee Curtis returning as Laurie Strode for the first time since Halloween 2 (1981). The film pretty much ignored everything that happened within the series after the second instalment\, with Strode now living under an alias with her son John (Josh Hartnett). \nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heFY1zqvsyE \nShe lives in constant fear that one day her psychopathic brother will return; when her worst nightmare becomes a reality Laurie is forced to face off against the Shape one more time as she protects her son and his friends from Michael Myers. \nAs an added bonus our screening will be accompanied by Rene Rivas’ The Spirit of Haddonfield. This not for profit/no budget fan which film takes place 20 years after the events of H20 will receive it’s UK & Irish premiere at our event and is included free of charge with your ticket.
