DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Strand Arts Centre as we screen Tony Scott’s cult classic True Romance\, just in time for Valentine’s Day. \n\n\n\nWritten by Quentin Tarantino and featuring an impressive ensemble cast led by Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette this is certainly not your typical run of the mill romantic comedy\, but it’s a love story nonetheless. \n\n\n\nIn Detroit\, a comic-book nerd and Elvis fanatic Clarence (Christian Slater) falls in love with a call-girl named Alabama (Patricia Arquette). When Clarence breaks the news to her pimp\, he ends up killing him in anger and as he hastily leaves the scene he grabs a suitcase of cocaine thinking it’s Alabama’s clothing. \n\n\n\nWhen the couple discover what’s actually inside the suitcase they hit the road and head for California hoping to sell the Cocaine for thousands\, but they are unaware that the mob are hot on their trail. \n\n\n\nThis screening begins at 8:30 pm after a short introduction by a member of the BanterFlix team! Anyone who pre-books a ticket for this screening will receive a free slushie upon arrival and attendees will also be able to get their hands on a specially commissioned print by local artist Chris Ellis.
