Support The Strand with MLK/FBI Virtual Screening

The Strand Arts Centre in East Belfast has announced an exciting new partnership with film distributor Dogwoof to bring cinemagoers a virtual cinema screening of Sam Pollard’s new documentary  MLK/FBI from Friday 15th January.

MLK/FBI is the first film to uncover the extent of the FBI’s surveillance and harassment of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Based on newly discovered and declassified files, utilizing a trove of documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act and unsealed by the National Archives, as well as revelatory restored footage, the documentary explores the government’s history of targeting Black activists and the contested meaning behind some of our most cherished ideals.

Featuring interviews with key cultural figures including former FBI Director James Comey and directed by Emmy® Award-winner and Oscar®-nominee Sam Pollard, MLK/FBI tells this astonishing and tragic story with searing relevance to our current moment.

Special Q&A Version

As an added incentive anyone who purchases a ticket for this screening before Saturday 16th January will be able to watch a special extended version of the film that features a Q&A session with some of the people involved on the project.

Renting the title costs £9.99 with 50% of the ticket price going to the distributor and  50% will be retained by Strand Arts Centre, this virtual screening will be the venues only source of ticket income through January 2021.
